在培养皿里直接测量温度，通过一个PID控制器控制温度：经由风扇把热空气吹入显微镜周围的塑料盒子。PID 控制器从参考井中测量温度并且更新风扇加热器的温度，保证样本温度稳定在 ± 0.1°C.
CO2 二氧化碳在控制器里与空气混合然后注入微环境腔室，以控制基质的酸碱度. 在整个实验过程中都可以记录并控制二氧化碳的浓度水平. 根据需要，第三股气流可以注入培养腔室。一个加热湿度模块可以阻止培养基质的蒸发，并且避免水冷凝在玻璃和塑料表面。.
Several windows on the front and side panels allow full and easy access to the microscope. In particular, two openings on the bottom of the front panel give fast access to the focus knob. Additional windows can be realized upon request.
Turn to open hinges allow a one minute removal both of the front and of the upper panel. Once the panels have been removed, the rest of the cage incubator can be easily moved backwards. When needed, the cage incubator can be reassembled and placed again around the microscope in 5 minutes.
Inverted and Upright Microscopes
Mixer or Controller?
Okolab Microscope Incubators can be alternatively equipped with two types of CO2 Modules: a Manual CO2 Mixer or a Digital CO2 Controller.
Manual CO2 Mixer
It allows to generate COB2B-Air mixtures with an adjustable COB2B concentration in the range 0-15%. Air and COB2B flows are regulated by two floating ball flow meters in the range 0.2 1.7 Nl/min and 0.013 0.13 Nl/min, respectively.
Digital CO2 Controller
It allows to generate a CO2-Air mixture with an adjustable CO2 concentration in the range 0-20%, with an accuracy of ± 5% of CO2 concentration, for instance, if CO2 set point is 5%, accuracy is ± 0.25% . The air flow is regulated by a floating ball air flow meter in the range 0.2 0.8 Nl/min.
A CO2 infrared sensor continuously measures CO2 concentration in the mixed gas stream and a PID closed loop controller gives feedback to a fine valve regulating CO2 flow. Measured value of CO2 concentration is displayed in real time in green . An alarm can be set on CO2 concentration, so that, if CO2 concentration goes below such value, display color turns red and a buzzer turns on.
The serial RS-232 interface and the CO2 Control Software allow the user to control the unit with a personal computer and to acquire and store concentration data in computer memory.

Available chambers for MCI
The CO2 Microscope Cage Incubator line is very flexible, thanks to the broad variety of micro-environmental chambers and interchangeable plate adapters available.
The aim of the Micro-Environmental chamber is to create a closed environment around the specimen where feeding humid air and CO2.
The choice of the most suitable chamber depends on the type of XY stage (flat mechanical stages, ASI stages and Piezoelectric stages require a different chamber from the other stages).
Each chamber can accommodate any kind of multiwell plate and can be equipped with plate adapters, chosen according to the type of cell culture support used (Petri Dish, glass slide, etc. ). A one screw mechanism allows to change the plate adapters in 30 seconds, so that the same chamber can be used with different cell culture supports.
Every chamber presents holes to allow perfusion tubes' insertion.
The Lowered lid allows the high N.A. condensers use.

|Universal for Motorized Stage: |
This model is designed to fit any 160x110mm sized stage (i.e. Ludl BioPrecison and BioPoint, Marzhauser SCAN IM 120x100, Prior H107 and H117), A.S.I. stages and all mechanical flat stages. A dedicated stage insert to fit it into the Nikon TI-S-E motorised XY stage is also available. This chamber model accepts any kind of multiwell plate (6-12-24-48-96) and can be equipped with plate adapters to accept 35mm petri-dishes, chamber slides and 60 mm Petri-dishes. It can be used both with Long Working Distance and oil-immersion objectives.

Thank to its lowered profile, this special design lid allows to work with high N.A. condensers. It can be mounted on the Universal MEC for Manual Stages and on the Universal MEC for motorized stages, by replacing their standard lid.

Obscuring panels can be assembled with the cage incubator by means of turn to open hinges. They will create a dark environment for your fluorescence experiments.
Upon request, a third gas can be fed into the incubating chamber. Different percentages of three gas (typically CO2, O2 and air) are mixed in the control unit and are continuously fed into the incubating chamber to control medium pH and other experimental parameters.
